As we all know, the water permeability of optical cable is an environmental protection performance index strictly required by many users. However, the optical cable with ladle structure is easy to seep water where the steel belts overlap. The traditional way is that we usually fill it with hot melt adhesive to completely bond the overlapping parts of the steel belts to prevent water seeping. However, the traditional method has many disadvantages, such as water seeping if the amount of glue is insufficient, and wrapping if the amount of glue is too large, therefore, it is difficult to artificially control the amount of glue. In addition, the induction heating equipment will cause the sheath to fall off, because the polyester film on the surface of the steel belt is not firmly bonded and accumulates at the mold core, and the new process adopts the principle of high-frequency induction heating. The melting of the film on the surface of the steel strip not only makes the steel strip joint firm, but also improves the bonding strength between the sheath and the steel strip, and solves the problem of water seepage.

The principle of high-frequency induction heating is: the molecular phenomenon of dielectric materials occurs under the action of high-frequency electric field, and they are arranged according to the direction of the electric field. Because the high-frequency electric field changes the molecular direction at a relatively fast speed, the dielectric material will generate heat due to dielectric loss, and the high-frequency current flows to the heating coil (usually made of copper tube) wound into a ring or other shapes. In this way, a strong magnetic beam with instantaneous change is generated in the coil, when a material to be heated, such as a metal, is placed in the coil, the magnetic flux passes through the entire material to be heated, and a large eddy current in the direction opposite to the heating current is generated in the material to be heated, and the temperature of the material itself rises rapidly due to Joule heat generated by the resistance of the material to be heated.
